She looked at him. He looked at her.

So I was in Safeway a couple of weeks ago and was looking for a birthday card when I came across a card that said this:
She looked at him.
He looked at her.
And everyone who saw that look
wanted to throw up a little.
Below are some pictures that I thought you would enjoy. It's been a little over 2 months since Nick and I have been living in Lynnwood and .. yes.. it still feels like we are on our honeymoon. I wanted to post what that card said because I think it's funny that when I am talking about Nick and I at my salon gettin my hair did or with friends, I always get a little bit of grief for being "so in love" but it's true!! It's the little things in life that I enjoy everyday being with Nick. Something as small as replacing the toilet paper roll can go such a long way.
Nick and I enjoy spending every minute that we get together.. okay most of them ;-) and I know it sounds silly.. but it's true. When you see us together and see us look at eachother.. you can see it.
And everyone who saw that look
wanted to throw up a little.
Pluto Night at nbbj. These adorable pictures are from October 27th, 2006. Before this night, Nick and I were "just hanging out as friends". I was so excited when he had asked me to join him for a work party. I remember being really nervous about it and Renee (my sister-in-law) giving me a ride downtown because Nick and I were going to take a cab home afterwards.
That night when Nick was making copies of these pictures for me I asked him "When are we going to be more than just hanging out?". His reply was "Shelly, we ARE more than just hanging out". And the rest is history...
I also have to say that I did end up losing my cell phone in the cab that night, bought a new phone on Sunday with Nick along my side with no contacts because Julia had convinced him to throw the one contact that he had left away. We had a Halloween party at our house on Saturday night and Nick had lost a contact on his way back from 7-11. One guess why he went there D-runk and wearing a hippo with a tu-tu costume? Anyone?
Ha-Ha. Good times!!!

Ahhh.. Lake Ozette. The Jones boys go on a hike every year to Lake Ozette. It's a very big deal and all of the boys have a blast! Well, the first year we were together I convinced the guys that it should be a boy/girl hike instead of just boys. Needless to say, I got to join in on the fun. It's a Friday - Sunday trip and worth every ache and pain in the end.
You can see from the picture how big my smile was. Well, this was before I went on the 3.2 mile hike. I was trying to be tough and carried a backpack that might have been a little too heavy for me. It must have been the teddy bear that I brought. ;-)
No, but really... camping is one of the many things that Nick and I both really enjoy spending our extra time doing together. Backpacking, trailer or tent.. we're in!

I love N.Y.C.!! This was Oct. 2007, a little over a month after Nick asked me to marry him. He had traveled to NY for work and I was lucky enough to be able to join him for 3 very fun filled days with my friend Julia. Nick worked most of the time Julia and I were there but we were able to squeeze in beer and pizza one of the nights together which was awesome. During the time that we were there was also Nick and my 1 year... ahhh.. cute, huh? Julia and I did just about everything we could do in those 3 days. Very little sleep won't stop a couple of girls that had never been to NYC before. We made it to the Empire State Building but it was too foggy to go up to the top. We took a few subway rides on our own and that was pretty scary! Central park was beautiful. Would I go back there? In a heartbeat.

Go DAWGS!!! This was at the Apple Cup 2007. I had never been to a husky game before and boy, did I have the time of my life. Nick's brother Mitch and wife, Kim were in town to celebrate Thanksgiving with the family (a bit early) and the boys wanted to go to the Apple Cup. It turned out to be a ton of fun. Nick's parents and some other close family friends all joined us - 16 in all. We had a tailgate bbq and some beer before we enjoyed the game. We ended up losing to the Cougs during the last 5 seconds of the game. UGH!! Again, I had such an amazing time at this game, I'm already asking Nick if we can go to this years game!

Beautiful Alaska! This was Nov. of 2008 - Yes, we were very busy there for a while. Nick has a very good friend that lives up in Anchorage with his wife and 8 yr. old daughter. Nick and I were up there for a week and enjoyed every minute. We went riding on Roddy's quads which is something I will never forget. We got very MUDDY!
We're looking forward to going back up there one day during the spring/summer time when the sun is out all day long.

Camping with my sister Niki and her family is something that Nick and I have done every July. We are down in CA for a week and for the last 2 years have gone to the Sanoma Mountains. We have great time with her kids - Josh and Carley and her husband - Walt. Camping this year is going to be in Oregon with her family and our parents! In just a few weeks. Can't wait!!

JUST KIDDING!! So after I posted this blog, Nick pointed out to me that I was incorrect about this picture. This picture is from the back of a boat when we were on our HONEYMOON!! Trip of a lifetime. One we both will never forget. I think this was the boat trip that I decided to drink a ton of the rum punch and didn't make it to dinner that night. I also didn't drink for DAYS after this boat ride. ha-ha!!

Brotherly love right there! Chester and Gizmo are getting along great! Yes, Chester is still playing really rough with him and rabbit kicks him like he's just a toy filled with catnip.. but we've caught Chester cleaning or licking Gizmo quite a bit too. They are now starting to sleep on the same bed together. It's cute to see them getting along.

See?!?! They do sleep close together some of the time. That's really how Gizmo sleeps sometimes! It's so cute how kittens will just sleep anywhere and in any position, isn't it?

It's that time of the year again.

It's LCP time, YO. Nick and I have been spending most of our weekends up at Lake Connor Park (as you might already know by our previous blog posts). The pictures below were taken during the last weekend in May. I was lucky enough to have that Saturday off and was able to stay up there all weekend long. It's amazing what an extra day of camping can do for a person. Going up to LCP is like therapy. Quality time with good friends, the kids get to be kids and run around all day long and it's just great to be able to relax and read a book while sitting in the sun.
By the end of the summer, you might get a little tired of hearing about our adventures at LCP, but I just can't help but share the fun stories and pictures from up there.

Amelia. She's growing up so fast. She'll be 2 in Oct. but she's talking up a storm and is all about doing everything herself now. She doesn't want her mom to feed her anything anymore because she can do it. Hand her the food and she'll put it in her mouth. Don't try to feed her or she'll throw a little bit of a fit. I took this picture when Shannon was able to feed Amelia some yogurt (she didn't have the choice with how messy it could have been!) I love this picture because it's a classic smile.

It's the cheesiest of all Mac and Cheeses. Hands down one of the true classics of camping. Hot dogs and mac and cheese. Kraft mac and cheese, that is. I'm not sure if you can see it or not but Joey has a "faux-hawk". Faux-hawk: Not a true mohawk because he still has his hair on the sides. Ryan had gotten his hair cut by our friend Keri up there early Sat. morning and Joey had said that he wanted a mohawk. Instead of shaving off part of his hair, Keri convinced him that a faux-hawk was WAY cooler. Thanks Keri!

It's not summer time until the oysters have been put on the grill.
Keith, Ryan and Nick went on a roadtrip Saturday morning out to Arlington and picked us up 6 dozen.. oh yes, 6 dozen oysters. The boys really know how to cook em'. What's an oyster cookout without the beer? Good question. That's why the boys stopped at Red Hook Brewery in Woodinville and picked up a keg of Slim Chance. Ahhh.. cold beer and oysters on the half shell. That's what I call perfection.

Get ready for this story.
We're all sitting around the campfire when Joey walked up to Jeremy (his uncle) and said "Uncle Jeremy... I peed on your tent. I got too close to it. I'm sorry." HAHAHA!! I jumped up and had to take a picture of it. Too funny. It really wasn't that bad, thank goodness but it was really funny. Ohhhh Joey!

Bring wax and we will use it. Keri (Barb and Tim's daughter) is a cosmetoligist and brought her wax up to LCP for the night. She said that people get their nose hairs waxed on a regular basis and it really works. I wasn't about to do it, but ended up getting it done. EEK! We saw some long-ass hairs come out of some noses. It was funny and didn't really hurt at all. I suggest you try it sometime.
This is Ryan getting his nose waxed. I don't think he really wanted me to take his picture but I really couldn't resist. Love ya Ryan!

Cute, huh?
I ended up having to take this picture with the flash because it was getting dark outside. On the left is Ameila and on the right is Tayja. The butterfly is part of a 3 pack that Monika has. They light up at night, change colors and run off of solar power. Monika has balls as well and they are so cool looking.

I just thought this picture was cool.
Notice the Husky and the Coug colors. That's Jeremy in the background. He's usally either got Husky or Vikings gear on.
Go Huskies!!!

Keith and Belle.
Keith and his 3 kids (Tristen, Gavin and Belle) stayed with us for the weekend. Both Keith and his kids had a blast!

The awesome fire pit that Ryan built. SO much heat comes from it!!
Looks nice too. ;-)

Dignified. Regal. Stunning.
The King of the House.
I took this picture of him when I was outside watering our flowers. Notice the nose/snot marks on the window??

A day in the life of our cats....

Alright, so I know this is going to seem a bit silly, but there was not a lot going on this last week to blog about other than our funny and interesting cats!
The BIG Chase conversion was over Memorial Day weekend and needless to say, work has been very busy and even a bit rough. I've compared it to when Chase took over WaMu back in September. My days have been long and I'm still not back to work full-time, and am seeing a physical therapist a couple of times a week. The way I like to look at it is .. I'm taking 3 steps forward and 1 step back each week. A little progress each week!
Nick went riding on his quad with Ryan and Jim (Shannon's dad) on Sunday. They drove 2 1/2 hours over to Manastash, a new place that Ryan had heard about. They were into the ride about 3.9 miles to be exact when Ryan ripped the valve stem out of one of his tires. The riding ended there and they headed back to Seattle. Maybe that was a good thing since the weather was in the 90's over there and Nick had already rolled his quad.
So when Nick was gone on Sunday I had all day to hang out at home, baking and hanging out with the cats. This is Gizmo with a polo shirt on that we had bought Chester about a year ago. When we put it on Chester it was WAY too small for him. This time when I put it on Gizmo it's WAY too big for him. haha! He had it on for about a minute before he was done with it. He slid right out of it. I keep forgetting how small he really is.

This is Gizmo coming towards me after the whole shirt incident. He doesn't look real happy, huh?

Lunch time!! I made myself a tuna melt and you know Chester.. he comes running as soon as he hears a can open, regardless of what it is. Tuna is a real treat for him. Today was Gizmo's first tuna experience. He loved it!! Shocked, I know. ;-) It was funny to watch.. when Chester was all done with his, Gizmo went over to his cup and licked up all the chunks that Chester couldn't get to.. being as small as he is... he didn't have any problems.

For some reason, I never realized that cats always clean themselves after eating tuna. Chester has always done it but it didn't dawn on me until both cats were doing the same thing after enjoying some tuna. Interesting, huh?

I think it's interesting. Do you think it's instinct?

It's so fun to mess with Gizmo when he is asleep. He's in such a deep slumber that we can pretty much do anything with him and he just keeps on sleeping. This is one of his favorite positions to sleep. Well, that and upside down on the back of the couch.

Chester is still playing pretty rough with Gizmo but it's really fun to watch them play for hours. This is pretty much how Chester has been everynight since we got Gizmo. He's beat!!
Well.. that's our cats day in a nutshell for you. This weekend Nick and I are going to be up at LCP enjoying this amazing weather we've been having and the company of our friends! I promise next weeks' blog will be a little more interesting. haha.
