HELLO 3rd trimester!!

Here's an update on weeks 27 and 28. Today, I am 28 weeks along!
During week 27: We entered the 3rd trimester. Her eye lids have been fused together since week 11 or 12 and they are now opening and closing between weeks 27 and 28! Her chance of survival at this point in the pregnancy would be 85% if she had to be delivered. Not to worry.. She's still in there baking, doing well and is very active. Speaking of.. we're now at the "most active period of the pregnancy" - between weeks 27 and 32. It's neat to feel her moving around and knowing the difference between her moving and kicking or punching. I haven't seen the "sweeping moves" that most moms talk about but I'm sure that's just around the corner.
During this next week (28): She is able to recognize Nick's voice at this point! Nick is currently in China for a business trip but before he left he set up a camera on the laptop I use so that we are able to have video chats. She had been active around the time that I started the last chat but when Nick started talking.. her movements really took off!! It was an amazing feeling. Another thing that makes her move a lot is when our cat Chester will lay down on my lap, is touching my belly and puring.. she'll start to kick a lot more!
Also this week she might be able to see light or some sort of light through the womb.
Mostly at this point she is putting on weight. She only has about 2-3% body fat now.
She now weighs 2-2.5 pounds and is about 15 inches long. (When she is born she will most likely be between 19-21 inches long).
Our next appointment is scheduled for Friday, October 1st. It's the appointment that I get to take the glucose test! I'm really not that excited about having the test done but will be happy to have it over with. We will have an updated picture to share as well.
27 weeks along!

We really don't need to buy her any clothes.. but I could not pass this up!
Go DAWGS!!

This is SO cute! It's a really soft diaper cover my parents got for her.
There's something about diaper covers that I just love!!

Just a cute picture that Mitchell took for us while he was out here. I'm 26 weeks along in this picture.

A Husky pup in training.

Go Huskies!!
Nick's brother Mitch made a special trip out fom D.C. for a weekend full of purple and gold along with some family time on the side. It was great to have him here for the full 48 hours and we were sad to see him head back home.
Mitch tries to come out every year for a Huskies game. It's a pretty big day including 3 good friends of his and thier families all getting together for tailgating and all of the good times and great food that go along with that.
This year the game was UW vs. Syracuse. Huskies won 41 - 20.
From all of the purple and gold to very loud stadium.. it's a great time!

Mitch, Nick and I were up at 7 and all of us were down at the campus setting up the 3 ez-ups, 4 bbq's, 5 coolers and oh.. about 16 chairs at 8:30 am. The first beer was cracked open at 8:32! Guess who was one of the DD's for the day? This preggo chick!

After the game leaving the stadium. That's
Lake Washington behind Mitch.

This is Claire, Kyle and Mary-Ann's daughter. She's almost 3. The last time Nick and I saw her she was 7 months old! In the picure she had drawn an "H" for Huskies and lots of smiley faces. I'm sure she was trying to influence Jonesey into becoming a Husky fan at a young age.

Scott, Kyle, Steve and Micth.
They've been buds since college.. 30 years? Just kidding. It's only been 20.

Would it really be true tailgating without the "W" brand?!?

Moving on to Sunday..

Willa, Esmee, Ethan and Great-Grandpa Chub.
While Mitch was in town we all visited Grandpa Chub. He's a young 88 years old now and still going strong.

I don't think Mitch packed anything but Husky gear.

During this picture Chub said that he could feel Jonesey moving around. =)

They had just asked Jonesey if she was going to be a Husky when she grows up..
What do you think the answer was!?!

Nick, Mike and Mitch. =)
Soon to be ..
Dad, Grandpa Mike and Uncle Mitch.

I'm currently 27 weeks and 1 day.
During the 26th week.. this is what was going on with our little Cupcake..
She has distinct sleeping and waking cycles and she is a right side baby! Most of the time she is on my right side. It's strange because when I lay down in bed on my right side she will kick up a storm. (The left side is the best side for me to lay on anyhow) When I am on my left side, she still kicks but not nearly as much.
She weighs about 2 pounds and crown to rump is about 9.25 inches.
Her 5 senses are now fully developed!
Oh.. and I'm officially in my 3rd trimester!!
Only 3 months until our due date.

Pop goes the belly!

Here's the scoop on the doctor's visit last week:
Everything is going great!
Dr. Call measured my belly and all is well there.
We listened to her hearbeat and it was strong.
We took a look at her with the ultrasound (she was sleeping) and the machine was out of paper. So Dr. Call promised that we would get 2 pictures during our next visit.
I've gained 9.5 pounds so far though the whole pregnancy and feel great about it!
She's growing fast and everything is on track.
Our next visit is October 1st and I'm really looking forward to the glucose test... No I'm not! At least the appointment is at 8:30 in the morning.
We've decided on another nickname to call her and it's "Cupcake". I've never been this obsessed with cupcakes in my life. A day doesn't go by that I don't think about enjoying one. Yeah, I'm sure everyone enjoys a cupcake every once in a while but not everyday! It's not an ice cream craving for me.. it's all about cupcakes!! I don't eat them everyday but trust me .. I would like to.

These pictures were taken at 24 weeks. I'm now at 25 weeks and feeling awesome. Well, most of the time.
This is what has happened with our little cupcake during the last couple of weeks:
Her inner ears are fully developed and she has a good sense of being upside-down and right side up. She now has a better than 50/50 chance of survival if she had to be delivered now. (That was during week 24).
Her tiny little hands are also fully developed including little tiny fingernails. She can now make tiny little fists and is exploring her surroundings. (Week 25).
She is now at least 15 inches long and weighs at least 1.5 pounds!!

Reality check.. We're now at 25 weeks and starting our 7th month! I guess that would explain why I needed to buy a couple of boxes of diapers last week and yes.. It's official..
We have registered!! The funny part is that Nick and I went to Babies R Us a few weeks ago with a list in hand of the stuff that we already have and walked through the store discussing items that we think we might need and the brands. With so many different choices, 3.5 hours later we left the store and had not registered!
This week we went to Babies R Us and an hour later we had registered!
We can now check that off our list of things to do prior to our little cupcake being born!
I've been sleeping okay for the most part. It's getting harder to roll over and switch positions.
I woke up earlier this week around 3:30 in the morning and was starving!!
I'm not able to eat large meals anymore. I have to eat smaller portions and it's starting to feel like I am eating all the time!
My hips feel like they are moving or streching out. Walking around is not as easy as it use to be but I am still trying to walk around as much as possible.
You can now tell where she is at in my belly! Nick felt my belly yesterday and he said "Wow, she's not down here. She's not there but she's right there!".
It feels like she is growing SO fast and my belly has really POPPED during the last couple of weeks. Just this morning a good friend of ours (Monika) said to me that I was "All baby belly" this morning and commented on how much my belly has grown.

Here's Gizmo taking a nap on our changing table in the nursery.

Nick came home about a week ago and found our wonderful cats hanging out in the nursery. Chester is curled up on top of the toy chest and the extra changing pad that we have. Do you spy Gizmo? He's on changing table behing the abacus. Silly cats. I think they are trying to make a statement about the new little one that will be here soon!

On a final note.. Friends and family have been able to feel Jonesey moving and kicking!!! Nick felt her for the first time last Sunday and everyday since. The first person that was able to feel her move was my sister, Niki!
